Sappi Wins Two Gold MUSE Creative Awards for Videos That Empower Employees and Highlight the Power of Design

BOSTON (News release) -- Sappi North America Inc., a leading producer and supplier of diversified paper, packaging products and pulp, announced that it is a winner of two Gold Awards in the MUSE Creative Awards: one for its Somerset Mill video in the Branded Content - Recruitment category and another for its Ideas That Matter grant program in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.

Created in collaboration with VSA Partners (VSA) and Maday Productions, the Somerset Mill video was recognized by MUSE for its ability to expel outdated perceptions of the paper industry and to demonstrate that Sappi is a dynamic and thriving workplace where talented people are welcomed and empowered. From forestry to manufacturing to business operations, Sappi employees play a vital role in driving world-class sustainability initiatives and leading R&D work with cutting-edge technology that makes a global impact.

Additionally, Sappi's Ideas that Matter grant program video, supported by partners at Dress Code, received a gold award for highlighting the power of design to better our world. For over two decades, the program has funded and provided resources for designers working with nonprofits to make social and environmental impact. Sappi has made global contributions totaling nearly $14 million through the work of more than 500 projects toward addressing issues that impact communities around the globe.

"More than ever, visual mediums make a lasting mark on your target audience and highlight your programs and initiatives in a way that brings them to life for viewers," said Patti Groh, Director of Communications at Sappi North America. "We are grateful to our partners at VSA and Maday Productions who captured the essence of our Somerset Mill as well as Dress Code for the impact of our Ideas that Matter program in beautiful and inspirational videos that will leave a lasting impression on our current and future employees, as well as members of our local and global communities."

"The industries have gone through significant changes through the years, yet to have these entrants showcase their ability to adapt and overcome, it is certainly surprising and encouraging to our team in IAA," said Thomas Brandt, spokesperson for IAA. "It is humbling to see the level of craft displayed in the submitted works. Our most sincere commendations go out to those behind said works and for setting such a high standard for excellence for all to follow."

The MUSE Awards were created by the International Awards Associate (IAA) and intend to recognize ideas, concepts and designs from creative professionals. The international award program grades entries according to its three tiers of achievement including Platinum (85-100 points), Gold (70-84 points) and Silver (50-69 points). Sappi's gold achievements set it alongside other innovative and imaginative creatives across the globe.
