Domtar's Johnsonburg Mill Hosts Local High School Students to Showcase Career Opportunities in Modern Manufacturing

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. (News release) -- Domtar Corporation announced that Nov. 2, the company's Johnsonburg Mill--one of the most technologically advanced paper mills in the world--hosted nearly 50 members of the Johnsonburg Area High School junior class. Domtar employees taught the students about modern manufacturing and discussed career pathways available at the Johnsonburg Mill involving everything from environmental and production jobs to engineering, business and IT roles.

Domtar makes a wide variety of everyday products from sustainable wood fiber, and it is one of the world's largest producers of a complete line of absorbent hygiene solutions as well as an innovator in absorbent technology. Recognized as one of the most technologically advanced paper mills in the world, Domtar's Johnsonburg Mill boasts a long and rich history of papermaking since its operations began in 1888. The Johnsonburg Mill employs 360 people.

"We were delighted to host students from the junior class of the Johnsonburg Area High School and show them a modern manufacturing environment," said Domtar Human Resources Manager Gina Jones. "It's important for Johnsonburg students to understand the variety of rewarding career pathways that are available to them in our local community."

Domtar's Johnsonburg Mill will hold a similar career event next Friday (November 9) for students from the Austin, Pennsylvania school district.
