Progroup has secured Akarton GmbH as a new partner to operate the packaging park at its PW05 corrugated sheetfeeder plant in Schüttorf, Germany. The facility, which connects directly to the production hall via intralogistics, became available following the conclusion of a previous partnership.

The integrated packaging park model combines corrugated sheetboard production with on-site further processing, eliminating the need for truck transport between manufacturer and processor. Progroup states that the arrangement reduces logistics costs, accelerates production timelines and lowers the product carbon footprint through shorter transport distances. The partnership is expected to strengthen the network of independent packaging manufacturers at the Schüttorf location.
