Pixelle launches new release liner base paper for industrial tape and medical applications
SPRING GROVE, Pa. (News release) -- Pixelle Specialty Solutions announced the introduction of Aspect ® 3.6mil, a high performance release liner base paper designed for industrial tape and medical applications. This release base paper features a densified, super-calendared kraft sheet with a functional back for dual side differential silicone coatings. The functional backside also supports good print fidelity.

Aspect ® 3.6mil is compatible with a variety of catalysts and silicone systems and provides good holdout and anchorage to help optimize curing. Cross web and down web release consistency ensures uniform performance along with dimensional stability for laminate lay flat.

"Through innovation and customer collaboration, Pixelle continues to expand into specialty release liner markets with the Aspect ® family of papers. From laminating throughput to demanding end use applications, Aspect ® is deigned to perform," said Bob van Helden, Vice President, Specialty Papers.

"As a new roll liner option, Aspect ® 3.6mil joins the broader range of release liners from Pixelle, including the Exhere ®, PointSil™ and GlazeSil™ families of clay-coated kraft, densified, poly-coated, supercalendered and hygiene kraft release liner papers. With calipers ranging from 1.7mil to 10mil, Pixelle offers the most comprehensive portfolio of release liner papers manufactured in the U.S.A.," said van Helden.

Aspect release liners are manufactured on the A4 paper machine at the Pixelle Androscoggin Mill in Jay, Maine. This state-of-the-art machine manufactures a wide array of release liners and label facestocks, and it is ideal for serving the unique requirements of the pressure sensitive industry.
