Clearwater Paper closing Georgia facility

GEORGIA (From news reports) -- Clearwater Paper is closing a consumer tissue converting and distribution facility in Thomaston, Ga., in a move that will affect 150 employees who will be given opportunities to seek open positions within the company.

Most of the equipment will be moved to Clearwater Paper facilities at Oklahoma City or Shelby, N.C., according to a news release issued this morning by Clearwater Paper.

Employees who stay until their scheduled last day of work will be offered separation and incentive pay. The transition will happen gradually with some of the operations running during the first part of 2024.
