Weyerhaeuser will pay $37,000 fine

COLUMBUS, Mississippi - Weyerhaeuser will reportedly pay a $37,500 civil fine after its pulp mill in Columbus, Mississippi exceeded emissions limits during a 2013 test.

Weyerhaeuser reportedly agreed to pay the fine to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.
A 24 Nov. 2014 order published by the department says that Weyerhaeuser's boiler exceeded limits for emitting fine particles.

Kent Walker, the site manager, signed the order on 10 Nov. 2015, agreeing to waive hearing rights and pay the fine.
