USG Corporation Named Top Workplace by Detroit Free Press and Chicago Tribune

CHICAGO -- USG Corporation has been named a 'Top Workplace' by the Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces annual ranking and a '2016 Illinois Workplace Achiever' by the Chicago Tribune. These publications recognized USG Corporation as one of the top midsize companies to work for in both the Michigan and Chicagoland areas.

The rankings are based on the results of a nationwide survey of employee feedback on factors including company leadership, communication, career opportunities, working environment, managerial skills, pay and benefits. The survey was conducted by Workplace Dynamics, LLP, an independent research company specializing in organizational health.

The Top Workplaces Program partners with more than 40 prestigious media partners across the United States to recognize companies for supporting the engagement and development of their workforce. The 2016 survey gathered feedback from 70,647 employees from 223 companies in the Chicagoland area and from 48,009 employees from 209 companies in Michigan.

"We strive to create a great environment for our workforce, yet it's our employees who truly foster an inspiring and energizing culture," said Brian Cook, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at USG Corporation. "This Top Workplace award is a testament to our employees who have been essential to our company's continued success for more than 100 years."

Results of the survey were published online and in special coverage sections on Nov. 11 in Chicago Tribune and on Nov. 20 in Detroit Free Press. USG Corporation was honored on Nov. 10 at a recognition event at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill. The Detroit Free Press honored USG on Nov. 14 at a congratulatory dinner in Troy, Mich.
