Sonoco CEO Tiede to retire after less than 2 years in the role
HARTSVILLE, S.C. (From news reports) -- Sonoco Products Co. said Monday that Chief Executive Robert Tiede has retired, after about 21 months in the role, and about 16 years with the company.

The consumer and protective packaging and industrial products company said it named Howard Coker as its new CEO, effective immediately.

Coker was previously senior vice president of Sonoco's paper/industrial converted products business. Tiede joined Sonoco in 2004 and became CEO in April 2018.
