SCA mill evacuated after fire breaks out in tissue paper production area

MANCHESTER, England (From Messenger Newspapers) -- A blaze broke out at a SCA mill in Trafford Park on Friday - but thankfully nobody was hurt.

Fire crews were called to SCA's Manchester Mill on Trafford Park Road on Friday afternoon, September 23.

The blaze broke out in the production area at the mill, which makes household tissue products.

Dr. Peter Hart will be reporting on the developments of the Eucalyptus Plantation Program in the SE United States at the 7th Annual Light Green Machine Institute Conference (16 - 18 Oct 16 in Raleigh, NC)

All employees at the mill were safely evacuated and there was no structural damage caused to the building.

SCA Operations Director Jim Lang said: "We are very grateful for the speedy response from the fire service, who stayed at the site for some time to ensure there were no further risks before our employees could return."
