Saica Group was honoured with the prestigious 'Investing in People' award during the sixth edition of the UK-Spain Business Awards, hosted by the British Embassy in Spain. The award recognizes the company's dedication to placing people at the core of its strategy, promoting training, well-being, safety, and diversity as essential pillars of sustainable development.
The ceremony was held in Madrid and was presided over by the British Ambassador to Spain, Alex Ellis, alongside Ceri Morgan, the British Government's Trade Commissioner for Europe, and Amparo López Senovilla, Spain's Secretary of State for Trade.
Susana Alejandro, Chairwoman and CEO of Saica Group, stated that "This recognition speaks to the very essence of who we are--our people. Saica's 12,000 employees are our most valuable asset, the driving force behind our sustainable growth, and I receive this award on their behalf." She added, "72% of our job openings are filled through internal promotions, because when our people grow, Saica grows--and so does the community we serve."
Saica currently operates 19 facilities in the United Kingdom, employs over 2,000 people, and has invested a total of £1.434 billion since beginning operations there in 2006. These figures reflect the company's strong commitment to industrial development, quality employment, and sustainability in the UK market.
