Quad/Graphics discloses Peru foreign bribery investigation

WASHINGTON (From the Wall Street Journal) -- Printing company Quad/Graphics has been investigating conduct by the company's operation in Peru that could violate foreign bribery laws and has disclosed its probe to the U.S., according a securities filing.

The company said it reported the conduct to the U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission in April after the possible Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues were detected by the company's internal controls.

Quad/Graphics said in its disclosure that it brought in outside legal aid and forensic accountants for its investigation and it has made changes to its compliance program.

"The Company is fully cooperating with the SEC and the DOJ. At this time, the Company does not anticipate any material adverse effect on its business or financial condition as a result of this matter," the filing Wednesday said.

Quad/Graphics wasn't immediately available for comment.
