GREEN BAY, Wis. (From WBAY) - The attorney for a man charged with homicide following a drugged driving crash last year near Georgia Pacific is asking for more time to negotiate a plea.

John Convery appeared in court Monday afternoon for a plea hearing.

Prosecutors say in July 2015 he lost control of the truck he was driving and hit two contractors working for Georgia Pacific who were outside on a break. Brian Delebreau died at the hospital, while Paul Price suffered several broken bones. Lab results showed Convery had taken Diazepam, an anxiety medication. Side effects include drowsiness and lack of coordination. Police say he didn't have a prescription for it.

He's charged with several counts related to intoxicated use of a vehicle and reckless driving.

Convery will be back in court on October 27 to either submit a plea or set a date for a trial.
