Morning fire breaks out at Pixelle Specialty Solutions York County paper mill

SPRING GROVE, Pa. (From news reports) -- A fire broke out at a York County paper mill early Monday morning, June 9.

Crews responded to Pixelle Specialty Solutions on South Main Street in Spring Grove Borough at 3:01 a.m.

The Nashville Fire Company said people were inside the building at the time, but no one was hurt.

A stretch of South Main Street was closed but has since reopened.

The extent of damage is unknown, and the cause remains under investigation.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions released the following statement.

"In the early morning hours of June 9, Pixelle Specialty Solutions experienced a small fire at our Spring Grove facility. Thanks to the quick actions of our employees and adherence to established safety protocols, the fire was largely extinguished before emergency crews arrived. Multiple local fire departments responded and cleared the scene by 5 a.m. We are grateful for their support and thankful that no injuries occurred," said Ross Bushnell, President & CEO, Pixelle Specialty Solutions.
