MM Group awarded "A" in CDP climate rating

The MM Group (Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG) has been recognized by the global, non-profit environmental organization CDP for its leadership in transparency and performance in relation to climate change and received a place on the annual "A List".

Based on data from the CDP 2022 Climate Change Questionnaire ("Climate"), MM is one of the few companies 1) to have achieved an "A" rating. In total, more than 15,000 companies were evaluated. In addition to the climate rating, MM has also disclosed data on forest management ("Forests") at CDP and, for the first time in 2022, on water management ("Water Security"). In both categories, the MM Group also achieved an excellent rating with a "B" rating. This shows that ecological sustainability is implemented holistically at MM, taking into account goals and measures to protect the climate, forests and water bodies.

Peter Oswald, CEO of the MM Group, emphasizes:
"I am delighted that MM has been included in the CDP A-list for the first time, as this means that our sustainability efforts are confirmed by an independent organization."

Thomas Greigeritsch, Head of Group Sustainability & Safety, MM Group, explains:
"MM takes its global responsibility to mitigate climate change very seriously. That is why we have also defined demanding, scientifically based climate targets and are taking measures to increase energy efficiency and the proportion of renewable energy sources. However, it takes a united effort to achieve climate change, and that is why it is very important to us to encourage other companies to do the same."

CDP's annual environmental disclosure and assessment process is widely recognized as the gold standard for corporate environmental transparency. CDP evaluates companies using a detailed and independent methodology, assigning a rating from A to D- based on completeness of disclosure, awareness of and management of environmental risks. In addition, the existing environmental initiatives of the companies are included in the evaluation, such as e.g. B. Setting ambitious and meaningful goals.
