NORTH CAROLINA (From news reports) -- A Wilson manufacturer is closing its doors, affecting 50 employees who work for the company, according to a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice.
Mativ, an air filtration fiber manufacturing company, will "permanently close its entire facility on or about Dec. 31, 2025," the WARN notice reads.
According to the release, the company's first separations will occur on Dec. 1.
"We hate to lose any industrial company," Wilson Economic Development Council Director Jennifer Lantz told the Times. "I feel like their employees should be able to find new jobs in Wilson."
According to the Wilson Economic Development Council's website, Mativ was established in 2015. Mativ is located at 2711 Commerce Road in the former Carolina Steel Corporation building.
Mativ Human Resources Director Kathy Hill said in the WARN notice that none of the employees are represented by a union.
