Man rescued from wood chip trailer
ESCANABA, Mich. (From news reports) -- Delta County Sheriff's Office deputies rescued a Menominee man from a wood chip trailer Thursday evening.

At about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, deputies were dispatched to the back gate of Verso's Escanaba Mill. While preparing to dump a wood chip trailer at the mill, a driver had heard a man yelling from inside the trailer. The driver left the mill and called law enforcement.

At the scene, deputies found a male subject in the front of the fully-loaded trailer. He was buried in chips and could not get out on his own. Tools had to be used to remove him from the trailer. Gene's Towing assisted at the scene.

As of Monday afternoon, the subject's name and details on how he got into the trailer were not being released by the sheriff's office.
