Lecta expands the applications of EraCup Natural across food service packaging

Lecta continues to drive innovation in more sustainable food service packaging with EraCup Natural, a next-generation solid bleached board (SBB) designed to deliver outstanding performance across a wide range of applications.

Originally developed for paper cups, EraCup Natural has evolved into a versatile solution for manufacturing cups, round bowls and trays with four sealed edges. Its advanced water-based barrier coating ensures excellent sealability and strong resistance to liquids and grease, even on high-speed forming machines.

Typical applications include bowls for salads and ice cream, trays for fries and snacks, and packaging for ready-to-eat meals. EraCup Natural provides an effective alternative to traditional PE-lined boards, enabling more sustainable packaging without compromising production efficiency or product protection for single use containers.

The paperboard offers heat sealability, excellent barrier performance, and suitability for dry, moist and greasy foods.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the board is OBA-free and PFAS-free, fully recyclable and repulpable, and available with FSC® C011032 and PEFC certification. It is also certified for recyclability by ATICELCA, recognised by Flustix "Less Plastics Product", and certified for industrial and home compostability by DIN CERTCO.

With the continuous expansion of its applications, EraCup Natural reinforces Lecta's commitment to developing high-performance paper-based solutions aligned with the principles of the circular economy, marking another step towards "A New Era of Responsibility".
