CANADA (From CBC News) -- Kruger will be transferring a portion of its Richelieu Mill production facility in Gatineau to Toronto, according to the union representing workers there.

Unifor said Thursday that workers at the Carrière Boulevard mill were told about the restructuring one day earlier.

Although there was no immediate announcement of job losses, Unifor said layoffs or transfers could eventually be possible.

A meeting between the union and Kruger is scheduled for next week.

Kruger produces a variety of paper products, including facial tissue, paper towels and feminine hygiene products.

The Laurier Mill, Kruger's other production facility in Gatineau, will not be affected by the restructuring.
