Kimberly-Clark to cut up to 1,300 workers

IRVING, Texas - Kimberly-Clark has announced that it will cut as many as 1,300 employees.

The company said the job cuts were part of a restructuring plan meant to reduce its costs and create greater efficiency. The cuts will amount to about 2 percent of the company's total work force of about 58,000 people world-wide. K-C also has reduced its 2014 profit forecast as a result of spinning off its health care business.

Kimberly-Clark is the maker of such consumer products as Kleenex tissues and Huggies diapers.
