Kadant Solutions Marks the Five-Year Anniversary of Ceramic Tip Creping Blades

AUBURN, Mass. (News release) - Kadant Solutions, a division of Kadant Inc., marks a successful five-year market presence of the CeraEdge™ creping blade line for use in tissue production.

Kadant is the only manufacturer in the market that can manufacture and supply its customers from both Europe and North America. This allows our customers to have local supply and access to application expertise.

The CeraEdge L and CeraEdge S creping blades use a thermal spray technology to offer a unique ceramic-tipped blade that provides tissue producers with excellent creping performance in terms of operating life and tissue softness. The CeraEdge L creping blade is designed for applications requiring extended blade life that maximizes productivity and optimizes asset utilization. For premium tissue producers seeking high tissue softness, the CeraEdge S creping blade is recommended. However, this blade technology is also suitable for use with all furnish types including heavily recycled away-from-home grades. The technology and coating are specially designed to work with furnishes having a high content of particles and contaminants. The thermal stability of both CeraEdge creping blade products reduces blade buckling, twisting, and warping.

According to Jerry Vandoros, technical director at Kadant Solutions, "The last five years have shown how critical durable thermal spray blade technology is to the tissue manufacturing process. Being able to manufacture the CeraEdge blades here in the U.S. allows us to quickly and efficiently serve our local customers. This means on-time deliveries, shorter lead times, and easier inventory management. This has been a tremendous asset to our customers during the COVID-19 pandemic." Vandoros continued, "Just as important, our proprietary process uses modern equipment and the best technology available resulting in a high-quality product that performs extremely well."
