CMPC to acquire Powell Valley Millwork

KENTUCKY (News release) -- Chilean forest products group Empresas CMPC S.A. ("CMPC") agreed to a contract for the purchase of Powell Valley, in Kentucky, United States of America.

The agreed price for the company is US$40 million, which will be paid on the closing date of the transaction and is to the usual price adjustments in this type of operation. It is estimated that the acquisition will impact positively CMPC's results, without prejudice now not possible to quantify.

Powell Valley is a North American company dedicated to the development, production, and commercialization of interior trims and other specialized wood products and has two production facilities, located in Clay City and in Jeffersonville, both in the state of Kentucky.

Empresas CMPC S.A. is a leading large-scale Latin American producer of pulp, tissue, wood, paper and packaging products, serving global and local markets.
