Sanna Väisänen has been appointed as Koskisen's Director of Sustainability and Communications and a member of the Executive Board effective 1 September 2022. She will report to CEO Jukka Pahta.

The Board of Directors of Southeastern Timber Products LLC, an STP-Tolko Partnership (STP) are pleased to announce a $150 million USD capital investment in the STP lumber mill in Ackerman, Mississippi. The partnership is a joint venture between Tolko Industries (U.S.) Ltd. and STP Holdings, LLC. This investment is the next step in an expansion project that will upgrade the mill from 120MMFBM to 250MMFBM annual capacity. The project will conclude in the first quarter of 2024.

Western Forest Products Inc. announced capital investments totaling approximately $29 million towards its British Columbia (B.C.) operations in Canada. Valmet will deliver a LignoBoost plant for Mercer Rosenthal Lignin Center in Thuringia, Germany. The plant will extract kraft lignin from pulp mill black liquor. The extracted lignin will be used for developing various bio-based materials, which can replace fossil raw materials.
