Ahlstrom-Munksjö awarded for sustainability at Avery Dennison's global supplier recognition ceremony
FINLAND (News release) -- Ahlstrom-Munksjö has received the 2021 Supplier Distinction Award for Sustainability by Avery Dennison during an online ceremony. Avery Dennison is a world leader in pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) materials for labels and graphic applications and a global customer for Ahlstrom-Munksjö's specialty papers.

Avery Dennison's Vice President, Global R&D LGM, Dr. Pascale Wautelet, commented that the decision was taken considering Ahlstrom-Munksjö's efforts in areas such as weight reduction, recycling of waste and CO2 from transportation, and also acknowledging the supplier's strong level of partnership and engagement on a number of Avery Dennison driven initiatives in the area of sustainability, such as the global consortium CELAB (Circularity for Labels) for recycling of PSA liner and matrix. "They continue to demonstrate an exceptional track record of excellent service and quality, which is complemented as well by the gold rating in sustainability performance from EcoVadis."

"We see Avery Dennison as a frontrunner driving sustainability in the value chain; a benchmark and a source of inspiration for us and the whole industry. Ahlstrom-Munksjö's mission is to provide sustainable and innovative fiber-based solutions for a better everyday life. We consider this award as a strong evidence of our common desire to continue our journey together for the years to come," said Ahlstrom-Munksjö's President and CEO Hans Sohlström.

From the first edition held in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2014, when the company was named Supplier of the Year, Ahlstrom-Munksjö has had the honor to join several of Avery Dennison's supplier recognition events. The latest award in 2021 is the fifth recognition received by Ahlstrom-Munksjö.
