$20 million expansion at Graphic Packaging facility

STAUNTON, Virginia (From The News Leader) -- Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Friday that Graphic Packaging is investing $20 million and adding more than 40 jobs in Staunton.

Graphic Packaging plans to expand its facility to handle growth.

The governor said the project was competitively bid, and Graphic Packaging had the choice between Canada, North Carolina and Georgia -- but "they decided to keep it here and grow in Staunton."

Graphic Packaging, previously Carded, is a Staunton-based custom graphics and packaging firm, which makes printed packaging and folded cartons for food, pharmaceutical and beverage manufacturers across the county.

Company officials for the Staunton packaging company say they are creating good manufacturing jobs that will be here for a long time.
