Cascades Inc. announced on 4 February 2015 that is has completed the transaction announced on 11 December 2014: the sale of its North American boxboard manufacturing and converting assets to Graphic Packaging Holding Company.

Production is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2016. The estimated yearly capacity of the production line will be around 100,000 cubic meters.

With this new machine, the plant is tripling its recycled paper production, hiking capacity from 50,000 tons per year to 160,00 tons per year.

Universal Forest Products, Inc. (UFPI) closed on the acquisition of certain assets of Caldwell, Idaho-based Rapid Wood Mfg., LLC, a supplier of lumber products to the region's manufactured housing and recreational vehicle industries.

International Paper said it will permanently close its Denver, Colo., and Memphis, Tenn., Recycling plants within the first quarter of 2015.

Company is planning a reduction of approximately 1,000 jobs worldwide.

The Palatka mill operates two kraft paper machines, three paper machines manufacturing paper for bath tissue and paper towels, and a number of converting operations producing finished paper products ready for customers. The Palatka mill began operation in 1947.

KapStone plans to modernize its facility and upgrade equipment. The new machinery will allow the company to increase production to satisfy customer demand and take on new contracts.

A spokesman for AIM Development said that the recycler "is in discussions with an operator" that would continue to make paper at the mill.

Despite a flurry of legal action and the hopes of millworkers who wanted to continue making paper, the sale of the Verso mill to a subsidiary of scrap dealer American Iron and Metal has been completed, a company spokesman confirmed Friday, 30 January 2015.
