Answer to last week's riddle: "According to ISO 8601, the first week of a calendar year is the one with the year's first Thursday. Thus, a year with 52 Thursdays has 52 weeks, and a year with 53 Thursdays has 53."

Last week's riddle asked: "Which day of the week determines how many weeks are in a year?"

This week's riddle: Jim, Laura, and Fred are at obedience training. They are standing in a field, looking at each other, each one 50 yards (45.7 meters) apart from the other. All at once, they begin to chase each other, each running at the person or dog to their left at precisely the same speed. (We all know Fred runs faster than Jim, but spare me the simplifying assumption). They eventually converge in the middle of their initial arrangement. How far did each person/dog run?
