CEDAR SPRINGS, Georgia – Various news outlets are reporting that a longtime Georgia-Pacific employee was killed Friday morning, 25 Jul 14, at G-P’s containerboard facility in Cedar Springs.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said it is investigating the incident, where the employee was reportedly hit by a clamp truck. A Georgia-Pacific spokesperson identified the employee as Lydia Faircloth, 63, who had worked at Georgia-Pacific for 35 years.

In a statement to the media, the company said, “We are working with OSHA to determine all the facts related to this very unfortunate incident. This tragic loss leaves our hearts heavy and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
