Regarding passion in the workplace

Mr. Thompson:

I have to agree with you that there is a loss of passion in the workplace. Borrowing from your analogies of rain and the agrarian society, in the past, rain or no rain, the farmer dealt with the issue as best he could and made the best out of the situation. In the paper industry of today, if there is too much rain or too little, the farmer (mill manager) would be looking for someone to fire.  This makes as much sense as a farmer slaughtering his cow for less than ideal growing conditions.
