Kemira to cut 21 positions in Finland as change negotiations conclude

Kemira has concluded its change negotiations, reducing a total of 21 positions in Finland, including voluntary arrangements. The negotiations, initiated on 24 April 2026, covered all Kemira employees in Finland except those in the manufacturing organization. The company's restructuring plans were finalized following the negotiation process.

Globally, Kemira will reduce an estimated 123 positions across its operating countries, lower than the original estimate of a maximum of 150 positions. The company had initially projected up to 30 reductions in Finland. The personnel impact was reduced through retirement arrangements, job role changes, and voluntary measures, according to Kemira.

The reductions aim to improve profitability and achieve annual savings of approximately $15 million. Kemira employs approximately 4,900 people globally, with about 800 based in Finland. Most planned changes have been resolved, though some individual processes in various countries remain ongoing and are expected to be finalized by mid-June. The company continues to implement other efficiency actions that do not affect employee numbers.

Kemira is a global leader in sustainable chemistry.
