MacPherson brings pulp and paper industry experience to Thunder Bay, most recently serving as Vice President of Paperboard Manufacturing for Graphic Packaging International. Prior to Graphic, MacPherson was Managing Director at Mercer International, Canada, and Mill Manager for Domtar in Kingsport, Tennessee. Earlier in this career, he held engineering leadership positions at Weyerhaeuser and Willamette Industries.

Metsä Group has completed a new Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its Kuura textile fibre. The assessment shows that Kuura's global warming potential (GWP100, fossil) score is less than one-third of the next best option, viscose.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has issued a modified air quality permit to International Paper - Riegelwood Mill in Columbus County.

The delivery is scheduled for the first quarter 2025.
