Cascades New York facility cited for noxious odor

State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) issued a Notice of Violation to Cascades Containerboard Packaging, Inc. after the agency determined the facility was generating a persistent noxious odor that resulted in dozens of complaints beginning in mid-May.

Canfor to invest $160 million in new sawmill in Louisiana and halt greenfield project in Georgia

Canfor Corporation says will invest approximately US$160 million to build a new sawmill near DeRidder, Louisiana. The company will receive state and local incentives in support of the project.
