Helsinki (News release) - UPM Plywood has concluded the change negotiations that were launched in April in UPM Plywood's business organization, business functions, and global functions in Finland.

The aim of the negotiations has been to safeguard the competitiveness of UPM Plywood business in a challenging operating environment by improving the efficiency and profitability of operations. The aim is also to develop UPM Plywood operating model to support organizational renewal, and to provide opportunities for job rotation and skills development.

Approximately 100 senior salaried and directors were included in the scope of the negotiations. As a result of the negotiations, a reduction of 9 positions will take place. In addition, the plan will lead to changes to the organization of work, job descriptions, and job locations within the UPM Plywood organization.

UPM offers support to those affected by personnel reductions. Change security includes services and training aimed at re-employment.
