Smurfit Westrock has further demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and innovation by securing an award at Legrand's Innovation Awards, run by the international electrical and digital infrastructure specialist.

NertopĀ® - Smurfit Westrock's sustainable pallet wrap solution - was named first place in the Sustainability category after 180 entries were submitted and assessed.

Produced with 100% virgin long fibres, Nertop Stretch Kraft paper is a fully recyclable, renewable, and printable alternative to plastic pallet wrap. It also boasts high energy absorption and strong performance in humidity, while its use can remove 300 grams of single-use plastic from each pallet wrapped.

"This award is testament to the outstanding collaboration between our Paper and Corrugated divisions to create a truly innovative, sustainable pallet wrap solution, and we are grateful for Legrand's recognition," said Javier Rivas, President Paper and Mills Europe, MEA and APAC at Smurfit Westrock. "With stringent regulations on the use of single-use plastics coming into force, we see the significance of sustainable, recyclable solutions like Nertop increasing, and we are ready to help businesses meet this challenge."

Legrand's Innovation Awards showcases innovations that are shaping the world of tomorrow, based on three key pillars: excellent customer experience, industrial performance and sustainable commitment.
