Pratt to open facility in North Carolina | Pratt, North Carolina, Georgia, expansion,

GREENSBORO, N.C. (From the Triad Business Journal) -- Pratt Display, a division of Georgia-based Pratt Industries, is expanding its distribution operations into a 360,000-square-foot building at the Rock Creek Center in Whitsett that was previously occupied by Ralph Lauren.

The announcement came Tuesday from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. The firm's expansion is the result of collaboration between the Guilford County Economic Development Alliance and the Guilford County Workforce Development Board.

Company officials were not immediately available for comment. But a press release from the chamber said Pratt's Whitsett facility will house a "full-service, stand-alone fulfillment operation, providing primary packaging; POP display packing; sophisticated pick-and-pack; and national distribution for consumer products clients."

"This investment is aligned with our five-year strategic plan that includes growing our business through value-added services such as contract manufacturing to provide our customers with an end-to-end solution," said Anthony Pratt, company chairman.

It's not clear how many jobs the firm will hire in Whitsett, but the firm is in the process of hiring production, quality, warehouse, and maintenance associates to staff the new facility.
