At Domtar, being a responsible forest products manufacturer means more than just creating sustainable products. It means being an active partner in the communities where we live and work. Through Domtar Connects, our flagship community investment program, we are deepening that commitment with the support and encouragement of our owner, Jackson Wijaya. Since the launch of Domtar Connects, dozens of projects have come to life across North America, from funding school libraries and technical training programs to sponsoring local environmental cleanups and supporting Indigenous community partnerships. At the heart of each initiative is a shared belief: Strong communities create stronger companies. "Jackson Wijaya believes deeply in long-term, values-driven investment," says Jennifer Johnson, vice president of Global Communications for Domtar. "He has made it clear that supporting the places where our employees live, work and raise families isn't just good citizenship, but also essential to our identity and our future. We're grateful that our business leaders and mill teams recognize the importance of giving back and have made community investment a core part of our People and Communities pillar in the Sustainability Strategy." Central to Domtar's approach and with the support of Domtar owner Jackson Wijaya, is the belief that businesses thrive when their people are connected to their communities. Domtar Connects is not a top-down initiative; it empowers employees at all levels to propose and lead projects that are meaningful to them.
