IOWA (From news reports) -- Memphis, Tennessee-based International Paper is planning a $102 million expansion of its Cedar River Mill in southwest Cedar Rapids.
At its meeting Jan. 10, the Cedar Rapids City Council is set to authorize sponsorship of an application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) for state incentives to support the project.
According to IP's website the mill started operations in 1995, and is one of the newer paper mills in the United States and employs approximately 240 employees.
IP touts the mill as the largest 100% recycled paper mill in the Americas, producing Containerboard, Boxes, and Packaging
