CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (From news reports) -- Crews with the Chattanooga Fire Department were at the scene of a fire at a WestRock facility on Sunday, Feb. 28.
The fire was reported at 4:30 p.m. According to CFD, responding crews saw heavy smoke coming from the structure and knew they were dealing with an active fire.
CFD said flames were traveling through the building inside the vent into other parts of the structure. A hot air fan was found to be the source of the fire.
Three workers were inside when firefighters first went inside the facility.
The fire department said there isn't a threat to the public in terms of chemicals.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
"Everyone did an incredible job when they got on scene and they made a fast attack. I can't say enough about the efforts by our crews today. This could have been much worse, but they knew what to do and got the job done," said Battalion Chief Terry Knowles, incident commander.
