BRADFORD, Pennsylvania (From the Bradford Era) -- About 45 employees were evacuated from Georgia-Pacific in Bradford Township, Pennsylvania for about an hour Wednesday afternoon after a bailer overheated and caught fire at the facility.

Around 2 p.m., workers noticed smoke coming from baler equipment, extinguished the fire, and firefighters were called to the scene as a precaution, according to Georgia-Pacific spokeswoman Julie VanDeWater. Heat and smoke spread to the dust collectors on the roof, Bradford Township Fire Department Chief Dan Burkhouse said.

Fire departments from Bradford Township and Lewis Run responded to the scene, and firefighters were on scene for about an hour and a half, he said.

On standby were fire departments from Bradford City, Derrick City and Corydon Township.

"It (the incident) was very minor, and no one was hurt," VanDeWater said.
