RR Donnelley to shutter NE Portland plant; 113 to lose jobs

PORTLAND, Oregon (From the Portland Business Journal) -- RR Donnelley plans to permanently close a plant in Portland, resulting in the loss of 113 jobs.

In a notice filed with Oregon's workforce development office, the company said the cuts will begin around Aug. 1. The company cited "changing market conditions" as the reason for shuttering the plant and said "all employees involved in directory and print fulfillment work" will be affected.

Based in Chicago, RR Donnelley provides printing and communications services to clients worldwide. It maintains sales and operations units in 39 countries. The company reported fourth-quarter sales of $2.9 billion, down 4.4 percent for the same period in 2014.
