Roof fire at Wausau Paper

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (From the Journal-News) -- A fire in the roof at Wausau Paper, an SCA company, caused about $1,000 in damages Thursday night, according to Middletown firefighters.

Fire crews were dispatched to the business at 6:20 p.m., and when they arrived there was no smoke coming from the roof, according to the fire report.

The firefighters learned that earlier in the day there was a fire in the area adjacent to the roof that was smoldering.

It appeared the embers came through a vent and that started the fire on the roof. The entire area was checked and no other smoldering areas were located, according to the report.

Middletown received mutual aid from the Monroe fire department.
