Hey Jim, great column today. You said check your math - so ... The facing paper basis weight is most likely at least 41 lbs/MSF and the back paper is 38lbs / MSF on 5/8 board and likely heavier than that on 1/2 inch board - we use 54# and 42#. And you are correct - gypsum facing paper is one of the most technically challenging papers to produce.
