International Paper employee dies following accident

TICONDEROGA, New York -- An employee burned on the job Friday morning at the International Paper mill in Ticonderoga, New York, has died, WCAX-TV is reporting.

The company said 57-year-old Jorg Borowski died Friday evening. They say the maintenance team member was hurt while working in the facility's power plant. He was taken to a hospital in Burlington, where he died.

In a statement, the company said, "We are deeply saddened by this loss. Jorg was a valued and respected member of the Ticonderoga mill family. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family, friends and mill team members."

The fatality is under investigation.
