Do you think your purchasing department provides a valuable service?

In my column last week, we asked "Do you think your purchasing department provides a valuable service?"

A whopping 80 percent answered "Sometimes," and the rest answered "Often." No one picked "Always," "Rarely" or "Never."

Next, we asked, "Does your facility have a supplier gift policy?"

Eighty percent responded "Yes."

After that, we asked "Do you think purchasing agents should earn more than paper scientists and engineers?"

Sixty percent responded "Agree," 20 percent said "Neither agree nor disagree," and 20 percent said "Disagree." No one strongly agreed or strongly disagreed.

Finally, we asked, "Off the wall question of the week--Do you regularly tell new suppliers where you heard about them first?"

"Often" and "Sometimes" were the top answers, followed by "Seldom." No one picked "Never" or "Very often."

This week's quiz can be found here.

Jim goes over the Quiz results during the Tech Center Show on Pulp & Paper Radio International every Monday.
