Are you management material?

In my column last week, we asked "Do you ever go into the mill on Saturday mornings without anyone asking you to do so just to spend some time getting to know it better or to get your work more organized for the coming week?"

30 percent of those responded answered "Often," 30 percent answered "Sometimes," 25 percent answered "Very often," 10 percent answered "Never," and 5 percent answered "Seldom."

Next, we asked "Do you buy with your own money and read on your own time pertinent texts and journals that apply to your job or the position to which you aspire?"

Half replied "Often," 20 percent said "Sometimes," 15 percent said "Very often," 10 percent said "Never," and 5 percent replied "Seldom."

After that, we asked "If offered a promotion, when during the conversation should you ask about the salary?"

Half replied "Never," 35 percent replied "End," and "Beginning" and "Middle" each got 5 percent.

The last questions was "Have you ever turned down a promotion because it would make you salaried and you would lose the extra pay you make on overtime by being hourly?"

100 percent replied "No."

Take this week's quiz here.

Jim goes over the Quiz results during the Tech Center Show on Pulp & Paper Radio International every Monday.
