APPLETON, Wisconsin (From news reports) -- Appvion, a paper company that recently sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, has announced plans to cut about 200 hourly and salaried jobs in Appleton and move some of the work to Pennsylvania.

In a statement, the company said: "Consolidating Appvion's carbonless paper manufacturing, rewinding and sheeting to the Roaring Spring (Pa.) area, where Appvion already produces this product, will help position the company for long-term success by increasing the efficiencies of its manufacturing and logistics operations."

The company, which produces thermal, carbonless, security, inkjet, digital specialty and colored papers, also has facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
